You will require:
- A large baking tray, approximately 30cm by 40cm wide.Grease-proof paper, to line the tray.A LARGE saucepan.Weighing scales.An oven.A sharp knife.An adult to help you if you're not confident with the knife or the oven.A tablespoon.A mixing spoon.Oven gloves (for you, not the oven).A wire rack.A big mixing bowl.
You will also need the following ingredients:
- 200g of Butter.200g of Brown Sugar.2 tablespoons of Golden Syrup.350g of Porridge Oats.200g of mixed nuts, including Brazil Nuts, Pecan Nuts, Almonds and Walnut Halves.
You now have your very own Nutz 4 Nuts bars!

- Preheat your oven to 180°C (360°F).Using your hands, mix together the Oats and the Nuts.Line the baking tray with the grease-proof paper.Put the Golden Syrup, Butter and Brown Sugar into the saucepan. Using a low heat, melt the butter and mix everything together.Stir the mixture in the saucepan until the ingredients form a smooth paste with no lumps.Gradually add the Oat & Nut mixture, making sure to stir all the time.Once everything has been thoroughly mixed in the saucepan, pour the mixture into the baking tray.Spread it evenly until the top is as flat as you can make it.Put the baking tray into the oven. Leave to bake for 35 minutes.Remove the baking tray from the oven and place on the wire rack to cool.After 5 minutes of cooling, remove the Nutz 4 Nuts slab from the baking tray, using the grease-proof paper for support. Place the slab, still in the paper, onto the wire rack, having removed the baking tray.With a sharp knife, cut the slab before it hardens into strips about an two inches wide. Then cut those strips into lengths of three to four inches long.Leave to cool until solid.
